On Sunday night police arrested Bishwaraj Rai, 22, of Tapli Rural Municipality-2, near Saguri Bridge in Katari Municipality-6 with about 110 kg of marijuana.[1] Officers say he was carrying the load from Junglebo along the Tintale route toward Siraha when he was stopped at around 10:20 PM.[1][2] A second account places the arrest in the forest of Sanghuri Khola in the same ward and gives the quantity as 100 kg rather than 110 kg.[2]

Rai was arrested on drug-trafficking charges and is in custody while investigations continue into both this case and the abandoned-Bolero seizure found the next morning at Chargare.[1] His arrest opened the three-operation Udayapur sweep of 11-12 October, which also took in the 940.44 kg Chargare Bolero and the 159.4 kg Belaka pickup for a combined 1,209.84 kg, with the seized drugs and vehicles transferred to local police offices.[1][2] The district police describe the three seizures as falling within a single 36-hour period.[2]
