Authorities in Saltillo, Coahuila, have reinforced search operations at courier and parcel firms in recent weeks to detect possible shipments of various drugs.[1] The Fiscalía General de la República, Mexico’s Federal Attorney General’s Office, reported four drug seizures at such firms in recent weeks through operations coordinated among security bodies of the three levels of government.[1] Officials said most of what was seized was marijuana or crystal, a methamphetamine derivative, in packages arriving from central states such as Mexico City and the State of Mexico.[1] Seized drugs are placed at the disposal of the Federal Public Ministry, which investigates their intended destination.[1]

The latest seizure occurred in Torreón, where K-9 units secured about 33 grams of crystal and seven gummies containing THC extract at a courier company in the industrial zone.[1] A K-9 dog detected the drug package during the inspection of the Torreón courier firm.[1] The drugs from the Torreón seizure were placed at the disposal of the Strategic Operations Center.[1]
