In the Muni Ki Reti area of Tehri in Uttarakhand, Tehri police arrested a young resident of Himachal Pradesh after allegedly recovering illegal charas, a cannabis resin, from his possession.[1] The arrest was made during a major enforcement action carried out on the directions of Senior Superintendent of Police Shweta Choube.[1]

Officers seized 1.020 kilograms of illegal charas from the youth during the Muni Ki Reti operation.[1] Police gave the estimated value of the recovered charas as about Rs 2.5 lakh.[1] Police also seized the scooty allegedly used to carry and smuggle the charas consignment.[1] The 1.020-kilogram figure is the police count for this single Muni Ki Reti seizure involving one arrested youth.[1]

Police described the operation as part of Tehri police’s continuing campaign to curb the illegal trade in intoxicants in the district.[1] The Muni Ki Reti locality is the precise place named for the seizure within Tehri police’s jurisdiction in Uttarakhand.[1]
