Detectives from the Sunamganj district Detective Branch arrested 20-year-old Bijoy Robi Das in Krishnanagar village under Chhatak police station in Sunamganj district.[1] Krishnanagar is in No. 12 Chhaula Afzalabad Union of Chhatak.[1] The arrest took place at about 3:30 pm on Wednesday, 4 November 2026, during a special operation acting on secret information.[1] Bijoy Robi Das is the son of Shirish Robi Das of Krishnanagar village.[1] Another accused, Shirish Robidas, fled from the scene and could not be arrested.[1]
Officers seized 1 kg of ganja, meaning cannabis, from the accused, along with 1,104 taka in cash described as proceeds from drug sales.[1]
The operation team included Sub-Inspector Abdur Rahim Jiban with Assistant Sub-Inspector Ismail Hossain and constables Dipak Munda, Sohan Mia and Kawser Ahmad Antar.[1] The same article also reports a separate Tuesday-evening operation in which detectives arrested one man with 200 yaba tablets.[1] Yaba tablets are methamphetamine, not cannabis, so the reported 200 tablets, their 20-gram weight and 70,000-taka estimated price are excluded from the cannabis figures here.[1]
