Charbhadrasan police detained 20-year-old Swadhin Mridha with 3 grams of ganja on a dirt road behind the old jail at Balia Dangi on the evening of 3 November 2026.[1] Officers detained him at about 6:45 pm on Tuesday on the unpaved road behind the old jail in the Balia Dangi Hindu locality of the upazila.[1] The detained youth is the son of the late Shakhayat of the Balia Dangi area in Charbhadrasan upazila.[1]
Sub-Inspector Mozammel Haque Biswas of Charbhadrasan police station led the evening operation.[1] By torchlight, officers recovered one paper-wrapped packet of ganja from the right pocket of the full pants he was wearing and seized it under a seizure list.[1] Police said the recovered ganja weighed 3 grams including the paper and was worth about 200 taka.[1]
Police said proceedings for legal action against the detained youth were under way.[1] Charbhadrasan station chief Md. Safar Ali said police operations against drugs would continue and no one involved with drugs would be spared.[1] He appealed to local people to cooperate with police to build a drug-free society.[1]
