A 44-year-old man from the Ilava district has been charged with the crime of
unauthorised production and possession of narcotic and psychotropic substances.[1] The charge followed a search of a family house in one of the district’s
villages, where officers seized several cannabis plants and equipment used to
grow and process them, the regional police said.[1] According to the findings
so far, he grew and kept the plants for his own use.[2] He was briefly
deprived of his liberty during the procedural steps and then released; he is
being prosecuted at liberty.[2]
Police said he grew the plants in a greenhouse on the grounds of the family
house from about April until 14 October 2025 and dried them in the attic.[2]
The processed cannabis was kept in the garage and in the attic of his house.[2] Officers also seized cannabis seeds, a grinder and other items, and called
in the Police Corps’ forensic institute to examine the material.[1]
The Trenčín regional police announced the case on social media.[1] The force
described it as another success in suppressing drug crime.[1]
