Ratlam police exposed illegal cannabis cultivation in the Rawti police-station area of Ratlam district in Madhya Pradesh.[1][2] The plants were growing on private land in Sangla ka Mal village among a cotton crop.[1][2] Police said preliminary information linked the field to Rangilibai, wife of Jai Singh Bhabhar.[1] Police described the landholder as absconding.[1] Police said those found responsible would be made accused on the basis of evidence.[1] Police said they were gathering information on other people active behind the cultivation and its network.[1]

Officers raided the spot and seized nine green cannabis plants.[1][2] Police had all nine plants uprooted and seized in accordance with procedure.[1] Police put the total weight at 12.800 kg and the estimated value at about Rs 120,000.[1][2] Police said legal action was being taken under Sections 8/20 of the NDPS Act.[1][2]

Police said the action followed an informer’s tip about illegal cultivation in the Sangla ka Mal area.[1][2] Rawti police teams then searched fields and surrounding areas beside the hills in the Kheriyarundi Kala area and found the plants in one private field.[1] Ratlam police said action against drug smuggling and illegal cultivation was continuing in the district.[1]
