Istanbul police narcotics teams carried out a large-scale anti-drug operation in Pendik, a district of Istanbul.[1] The operation centred on a suspicious vehicle that narcotics officers had identified for inspection.[1] The teams act within the Istanbul Emniyet Müdürlüğü, the city’s provincial police directorate.[1] Officers detained one suspect linked to the incident as the operation continued.[1] The force said it was maintaining a determined stance to prevent drug trafficking in the area.[1]

A detailed search of the vehicle recovered 336 kilos 550 grams of skunk.[1] Police recorded the 336.55-kilo haul as the result of the work against drugs in the district.[1] Investigators described the quantity found in the inspection as a large amount of narcotic substance.[1]

The Istanbul Provincial Police Directorate said its fight against traffickers who endanger young people and the future of society would continue uncompromisingly.[1] It said anti-trafficking operations would continue with determination and increase.[1] Police added that they would give no opportunity to dealers trying to poison young people and the future.[1]
