Sector-58 police in Noida arrested two men accused of trafficking and selling ganja through WhatsApp.[1][2][3] On 4 November 2026 a police team arrested Sumit Raghav at Medicine Cut in Sector-57, Noida, using local intelligence and beat policing.[1] Following questioning of Sumit, police arrested his associate Manish Kumar Jha near ESI Colony in Sector-56, Noida.[1] The men were identified as 36-year-old Sumit Raghav, originally of Bhojpur village in Sambhal and living in Khoda Colony, Ghaziabad, and 33-year-old Manish Kumar Jha, originally of Kalyanpur in Samastipur, Bihar, and also living in Khoda Colony.[1] Sumit told police that Manish supplied him the ganja and that together they supplied youths in flats, paying-guest housing, hostels and colleges across Delhi-NCR through WhatsApp, with customers sending locations and sale money sent online to Manish.[1]

Police seized a total of 12 kg 200 g of illegal ganja from the two men.[1][2][3] A search of Sumit’s bag found small packets bearing an online delivery company’s name containing 1 kg 900 g of ganja.[1][3] Police recovered 10 kg 300 g of ganja from Manish.[1][3] Police also seized a Splendor motorcycle, two mobile phones and 42 printed packets used for packing the ganja.[1][3]

The accused packed ganja in 25 to 30 gram packets placed inside packets bearing online delivery companies’ names to avoid suspicion during delivery.[1] Police said Manish works as a technical engineer.[1] Questioning also named another associate, Amit, who is already jailed in Guwahati, Assam, in a ganja-trafficking case.[1][3] Police registered case number 385/26 under sections 8/20 of the NDPS Act at Sector-58 police station and are investigating the supply source and others linked to the network.[1]

DCP Noida Preeti Yadav said Manish Kumar Jha worked as a technical engineer at Delhi airport.[2]
