Gendarmerie teams searched four addresses in Nazilli, in Aydın province, on 4 November 2026.[1] The searches were run jointly by the Nazilli district gendarmerie, the gendarmerie’s organised-crime (KOM) branch and its anti-narcotics branch, under the Aydın provincial gendarmerie command.[1] The teams carried out the searches at the four addresses simultaneously.[2] Officers detained two suspects in the operation, identified in the reports by the initials İ. A., aged 38, and S. A., aged 45.[1] Aydın Ses Gazetesi described both detainees as men and said they were taken to the gendarmerie to be referred to prosecutors after processing.[2]

The searches turned up 249 grams of kubar esrar, the Turkish term for pressed cannabis resin, along with 7 hunting shotguns and 190 shotgun cartridges.[1] The operation was part of an investigation into gun trafficking, and the Provençal (KOM) branch searches began in more than four homes.[1]

The Aydın provincial gendarmerie said its teams carried out the searches under an investigation into gun trading, and the first reports expected the detainees to be brought to court the same day.[1]
