The Bureau of Customs-NAIA turned over to PDEA eight abandoned checked-in bags holding about 94.597 kg of suspected high-grade kush valued at P141.895 million.[1][2]

Acting on PDEA intelligence, NAIA Inter-Agency Drug Interdiction Task Group operatives inspected the bags, left behind at the baggage conveyor and moved to the interline baggage room of Terminal 3 on 1 September; X-ray re-screening showed suspicious images and a narcotics dog gave a positive signal.[1][2] Investigators linked the bags to three arriving passengers from Bangkok.[2]

The turnover was reported belatedly on 4 September, with the district collector and the Customs commissioner pledging tighter border controls.[1]
