The Bureau of Customs-NAIA seized an estimated P18.679 million worth of suspected high-grade marijuana, or kush, from the luggage of three Filipino passengers who arrived at NAIA Terminal 3 from Bangkok on 24 September 2026.[1][2]
The three inbound passengers carried six pieces of luggage that were put through physical examination after X-ray images looked suspicious; the bags appeared to hold foodstuff, but examination found about 18,679 grams of suspected kush.[1][2]
Customs’ initial report noted examination and verification were still ongoing at announcement time.[1] In the follow-up, the three suspects were transferred to PDEA custody and face criminal charges for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 in relation to the Customs Modernization and Tariff Act.[2]
