Police detained a 45-year-old resident of the settlement of Murmino on suspicion of illegally storing drugs.[1] Prosecutors accuse him of illegally making and storing a large batch of drugs.[2] His criminal case was sent for consideration to Ryazansky District Court.[2] He is charged under part 2 of Article 228 of the Criminal Code for illegal acquisition and storage of drugs on a large scale without intent to sell.[3] He faces up to ten years in prison if convicted.[2] He told police the drug was intended for his own use.[1]

Investigators say that in September 2026 the man collected parts of wild cannabis plants growing in the district.[2] He used those plant parts to make cannabis weighing more than 560 grams, described by police as marijuana.[3] He kept the substance at his home in Murmino.[3] Police found the substance in a container in his outbuilding, identified as 560 grams of marijuana.[1] Officers found and seized the prohibited substance during operational search measures.[2]

The detention was carried out by the regional Interior Ministry department together with Ryazansky district police.[1] The case was sent to court with an approved indictment from the Ryazan district prosecutor’s office.[3]
