A team deployed from the Armed Police Force’s Nocha Border Outpost recovered the load at Ramchowk in Jahada Rural Municipality-4 at around 11 PM on Saturday night, after the pickup van’s suspicious India-bound route drew attention.[1][2] When the force tried to stop the van, numbered Pra 1-01-00 Cha 7422 and bound for India, the driver abandoned it and fled.[1][2]

Searching the abandoned vehicle, officers found 19 packets of marijuana hidden between chayote and cabbage in the vegetable load.[1][2] Superintendent Gehendra Bahadur Bhandari, chief of the Armed Police Force in Morang, confirmed the total weight of 570 kg in the Biratnagar-dateline account published 11 October.[1][2] Both the marijuana and the pickup were handed to Nepal Police for investigation and action, and the hunt for the driver continues.[1][2] The published photograph shows the impounded pickup at the APF post flanked by two personnel and stacks of black-wrapped packets.[2]
