A SRB-6 headquarters company operation on a passenger bus in Mongla recovered a large quantity of ganja, but the amount recovered has raised fresh questions: officers at the scene told journalists 100 to 120 kg had been recovered, while the unit’s later press release put the figure at 75 kg, a gap of up to 45 kg that sparked local debate.[1]
Around 1:20 at night on Tuesday, the company raided the Mongla-Morelganj road at Brahmanmath in Chandpai union of Mongla upazila; per the release, a passenger bus was searched, 75 kg of ganja was recovered, four people were arrested, and the bus was seized.[1]
Those arrested are Md. Ibrahim, 23, a resident of Phulhata in Morelganj, and Parvez Ahmed, 25, Aminur Rahman, 32, and Nur Amin, 28, residents of Rangpur.[1] Several outlets quoting the SRB-6 deputy director and media officer reported 120 kg, saying the ganja sat in six cartons in the bus’s rear chassis, while release-based reports put it at 75 kg — leaving open why one operation at one place and time produced two figures, and how 120 kg weighed first became 75 kg in the release.[1]
