The RCMP, Peel Regional Police and Canada Border Services Agency investigated suspected cannabis export offences for several months. The RCMP said the joint investigation resulted in a 95-kilogram cannabis seizure and four arrests.[1][2]

On 24 September 2026, the RCMP’s Central Region Border Integrity unit announced charges against four men: Anoshan Alfred, 33, of Alliston; Jeffrey Woolcock, 40, and Renaldo Clarke, 42, of North York; and Jermaine Thompson, 32, of Toronto.[1][2] The charges covered cannabis possession for export, illicit possession, possession for distribution, possession for sale and conspiracy to export cannabis.[1][2]

CityNews reported that investigators did not say where the cannabis was destined or describe how the alleged export operation worked; the RCMP said the investigation was ongoing.[1][2] In a statement quoted by CityNews, Peel police Chief Nishan Duraiappah said the agency partnership was important for protecting Canada’s busiest airport and transportation hub from criminal exploitation.[2]
