Drug-control officers in Minsk detained a 27-year-old Minsk resident who had
organised an online shop for selling prohibited substances.[1]He was
registered as self-employed and worked drilling wells, while first working as a
zakladchik, a courier who places drugs in hidden caches, for another drug shop
and equipping caches during work trips.[2]Police said his main income came
from the drug scheme rather than the drilling work.[1]He later bought large
batches of prohibited substances, divided them into small doses and sold them
through the online shop he had created.[2]Deputy Zavodsky district police
chief Dmitry Belik, the criminal-police chief, gave these details.[2]Investigators opened a criminal case for illegal drug trafficking with intent to
sell, and the detained man faces up to 15 years in prison.[2]
Officers searching his flat and caches he had equipped in Minsk found and seized
more than 320 grams of hashish, police said.[2]Police said the online shop
has been liquidated.[1]
The articles give no separate date for the detention and searches; 3 November 2026 is their publication date and is used as the incident date.
The detained man was not named, only described as a 27-year-old Minsk resident.
Reports mention large batches of prohibited substances in general but quantify only hashish, so figures record only the more than 320 g of hashish.
The reported up to 15 years is the penalty he faces, not a sentence, so no prison figure is recorded.
SB.by labels its picture an illustrative photo and the Minsk-News image uses a 2023 file image, so neither is established to show this event and no media entry is included.
Both accounts rest on Minsk police statements; no independent account was found.
Police in Bobruisk detained a 32-year-old courier for an online drug shop and seized more than 600 g of hashish and marijuana, plus 2,000 LSD stamps, from him, his home and caches in four cities, the Interior Ministry said. Investigators opened a drug-trafficking case and he faces up to 15 years in prison.
A Grodno court convicted a 59-year-old man of illegally acquiring and storing marijuana without intent to sell after he found a jar of it near the railway station in June, took it home and used part of it. He was sentenced to two years' restriction of liberty without being sent to an open-type correctional institution, and the verdict could still be appealed.
Vitebsk customs stopped two Belarusian drivers bringing marijuana in from Russia, one in a Ford Transit and one who had hidden a package in a deodorant bottle. Forensic tests confirmed marijuana, and customs opened criminal cases that carry up to seven years in prison.
The Prosecutor General’s Office reported that restriction of liberty made up 48% of drug sentences in the previous year, with personal-use offences its most frequent application. Short custodial sentences rose from 0.14% to 3.4% of sentences. The figures covered drug offences generally and followed the 2025 expansion of sentencing options.
