Maripeda police on patrol spotted three youths acting suspiciously near the double-bedroom housing on Thorur Road on the outskirts of Maripeda.[1] The three tried to flee when officers moved in to check them.[1] Officers caught them and searched the bag they were carrying.[1] Police identified them as Kandi Abhiram of Damarachapalli village in Bhupalpally district, Power Vijay of Maripeda municipality and Banothu Manideepak of Suryapet town, and took them into custody.[1] Police registered a case against all three and sent them to remand.[1]

The bag held about two kilos of dried ganja, cannabis, already made ready in packets for sale.[1] Questioning showed they had made the ganja into packets to sell in the town areas of Maripeda, Mahabubabad, Suryapet and Khammam.[1] Officers also seized three cell phones and a small digital weighing machine from them.[1]

The seizure took place in Maripeda municipality in Mahabubabad district on Wednesday.[1] Maripeda Circle Inspector L Pavan Kumar gave the details, saying Sub-Inspector Gandrati Satish was on patrol with head constables Srinivas and Raju and constables Ravinder, Ramesh and Venkanna.[1]
