The Anti-Narcotics Force seized 3,825 kilograms of narcotics worth over Rs 560 million during an intelligence-based operation in the Jusak area of Kech district, Balochistan, disrupting an alleged international drug trafficking network.[1]
The operation recovered 2,454 kg of hashish, 1,363 kg of methamphetamine (ice) and eight kg of heroin from a compound allegedly used as a transit storage facility.[1] Preliminary investigations indicated the drugs had been trafficked from Afghanistan into Pakistan and stored at the compound pending a signal for onward transportation abroad through sea routes; investigations were underway to identify and apprehend facilitators.[1]
The ANF had shared intelligence with partner countries about a month earlier, leading to the seizure of 463 kg of Afghan-origin methamphetamine from a container at Colombo Port, Sri Lanka, and subsequently arrested an Afghan national allegedly linked to the network, exposing regional and international linkages of trafficking networks operating from Afghanistan.[1]
