Officers of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency on patrol along the Zaria-Kaduna Expressway in Kaduna State arrested Mohammed Musa, 29, with 31 jumbo bags of skunk and 775 blocks of the same substance, together weighing 1,027 kilogrammes.[1][2] The seizure was announced by NDLEA spokesman Femi Babafemi in the agency’s Sunday 11 October statement covering a nationwide sweep, reported by TVC News that morning and by Voice of Nigeria’s Charles Ogba the same day.[1][2]

The Kaduna interception was one item in a roundup headlined by the rearrest of an 83-year-old grandmother in Abia State.[1] The statement places it among operations in Lagos, Rivers, Taraba, Kano, Edo, Cross River, Ondo and Plateau states, all of them credited to intelligence-led work and praised by NDLEA chairman Brig Gen Mohamed Buba Marwa (retd).[1][2] No separate date was given for the expressway arrest within the sweep.[1] Both outlets give the combined weight identically as 1,027 kilogrammes.[1][2]
