Three men aged 20, 22 and 57 were arrested in the raid.[1] The raid happened in Iztapalapa, in the Santiago Acahualtepec neighbourhood.[1] It took place at a property on Callejón Moctezuma.[2] Officers had a judicial warrant obtained after investigation, intelligence work and field surveillance.[1] The operation involved officers from the city’s Public Security Ministry (SSC), the Mexico City Prosecutor’s Office (FGJ), the Navy (Semar) and the National Guard.[1] The authorities said they used no force and followed police protocols and respect for human rights.[1]
Inside, officers found 72 blue plastic bags and 24 clear plastic bags, plus a sealed Ziploc bag, all holding dried green plant material resembling marijuana, with the Ziploc bag holding loose material.[2] They also seized 36 yellow plastic bags and 28 white paper wrappings of a solid substance resembling cocaine, and 17 clear plastic bags of a substance that could be methamphetamine.[2] In total, the authorities counted 178 bags and wrappings, plus the loose plant material and a mobile phone.[1]
The three men and the seized items were handed to the Public Prosecutor’s Office, which will decide their legal situation as the investigation continues.[1] The property was sealed and remained under guard while investigations continued.[1]
