A 42-year-old Mainland male passenger arrived in Hong Kong from Bangkok,
Thailand, on 2 November 2026.[1][2][3][4][5]During customs clearance at Hong Kong
International Airport, officers found the suspected drugs and cigarettes inside
his carry-on baggage and arrested him.[2][6][4][5]The arrested man has been charged
with trafficking in a dangerous drug, possession of dutiable goods, failing to

Customs put the total estimated market value of the cannabis, poison products

Customs said it would continue to step up enforcement against drug trafficking
through intelligence analysis and risk-based checks focused on passengers from
high-risk regions.[2]Under Hong Kong’s Dangerous Drugs Ordinance, trafficking
in a dangerous drug carries a maximum penalty of a $5 million fine and life
