Ten arrested as parcel-post cannabis ring supplying France is dismantled
French and Spanish police arrested 10 suspects and searched 24 premises in a Eurojust-coordinated action week, breaking a ring that moved about 1.4 tonnes of cannabis from Barcelona to Rennes by post since 2024. Cash, drugs, guns and cars were seized; the network's assets are put at €4 million.

During an action week between 15 and 19 June 2026, French and Spanish police arrested 10 suspects and carried out 24 searches across both countries against a ring that moved cannabis from the Barcelona area to the Rennes region by parcel post.[1][2] The searches seized over €278,000 in cash and €111,000 in bank accounts, as well as cannabis and other drugs, firearms, phones and cars.[1][2]
Three suspects ran the operation: two based in Spain who coordinated supply and shipments, and one based in France who handled distribution on arrival.[1][2] Since September 2024 they sent at least 114 parcels holding around 1.4 tonnes of cannabis through a courier firm, using forged identities; drug money travelled back to Spain the same way, in parcels fitted with GPS trackers.[1][2] Authorities put the network’s assets, including property, at about €4 million.[1][2]
Eurojust coordinated the investigation from The Hague, executing the European arrest and investigation orders, while Europol exchanged intelligence and stationed experts in both countries, even funding the deployment of French investigators to Spain.[1][2]
