On Friday, 30 October 2026, police and the Special Operations Team raided LG Farmhouse at Kammeta village, under Chevella police station limits on the outskirts of Hyderabad, after what police called credible information.[1] Officers found 108 students from ICFAI and IBS colleges consuming liquor without the permissions required for the gathering.[1] Of those caught at the farmhouse, 71 were boys and 37 were girls.[1] Telangana excise rules require permission before liquor is served at a private event, including a party at a farmhouse, and a breach can be acted on under those laws.[2]

During the raid, police screened people for drugs, and four tested positive for cannabis consumption.[1] The Hindu’s account of the same Friday-night raid also reported four positive ganja tests among the 108 students.[2] Police seized 15 grams of ganja, the name used in the reports for cannabis, together with seven cars, three motorcycles and 70 mobile phones from the premises.[1]

Chevella Police Station Inspector Narendra Reddy said a case had been registered in connection with the incident and that a detailed investigation was under way.[1][3] He said further legal action would be taken in accordance with the law.[2]

A man named Mannan, who had earlier organised a freshers’ day party at ICFAI University (IBS) in Dontanpally, Shankarpally mandal, advertised on Instagram that a party would be held on 30 October at a farmhouse in Chevella mandal and collected 1,000 to 2,000 rupees from each person.[3] He kept the venue secret and sent the farmhouse location only at the last minute to those who had paid.[3]
