Béziers: 15 months firm over drone cannabis drop at prison
Béziers court gave an 18-year-old man 15 months in prison and a 21-year-old woman six months suspended on 29 October 2026, after police stopped them near the prison with a drone and a package holding 97.25 g of cannabis and 29.10 g of cocaine. An 18-year-old man and a 21-year-old woman were arrested near the Béziers prison
on the night of 28 October 2026.[1] A police patrol stopped their car on a
track beside the prison, where officers found a drone and a package prepared for
an illegal delivery into the detention centre.[1] Police seized 97.25 g of
cannabis and 29.10 g of cocaine from the package.[1] Investigators said the
21-year-old’s role was to get the 18-year-old to the spot, where he was to take
the drone and fly the package into the prison.[2]
He had already been convicted over similar facts in Aix-en-Provence on 8 April
2026 and given 15 months, six of them suspended with probation.[3] The
21-year-old also appeared on 29 October under the guilty-plea procedure for
complicity in an attempted illicit handover to a prisoner.[1] She was
sentenced to six months suspended and banned from the area around the Béziers
prison for three years.[1] She had no criminal record and admitted the facts.[3]
