Military police arrested a 21-year-old man in the Canafístula neighbourhood of Arapiraca, in Alagoas’s Agreste region, on the afternoon of Thursday 29 October 2026.[1] The arrest was made at a house in Conjunto Valentim, a housing estate in the neighbourhood, by the Canil, the 3rd Military Police Battalion’s dog unit.[2] Officers were patrolling Rua 13 at about 5pm when a woman left the house and turned back inside on seeing the patrol car.[2] She told them she had come to buy drugs and had already handed R$ 9 to the suspect.[2] The man then came out questioning the officers and did not obey orders to put his hands on his head, and was restrained.[2]

A search with the sniffer dog K9-Kaos found two crack rocks in the sink drain and, in the CD compartment of an old sound system, five marijuana wraps and R$ 63 in cash.[2] In the bathroom roof the dog indicated another hiding place, where officers found 23 more marijuana portions and 42 crack rocks.[2] In all police seized 28 marijuana portions, 44 crack rocks and two mobile phones.[2]

He was taken with the material to the Central de Polícia de Arapiraca, the city’s central police station, where the formal procedures were carried out, and the woman was taken as a witness.[2] The military police booked him for drug trafficking (tráfico de drogas).[3] One phone, he said, belonged to his sister, who had left the house about three weeks earlier, and it was locked but still receiving calls, including from a contact saved as “Mago”.[4]
