Police in Aceh Tengah regency, Aceh, detained 22 people in 13 narcotics cases reported over September and October 2026.[1] Officers seized 23,662.8 grams (23.66 kg) of ganja in three cannabis cases.[1] The 13 cases also included nine methamphetamine cases and one ecstasy case, with 18.6 grams of methamphetamine and 28 ecstasy pills weighing 12.95 grams seized.[1] Of the 22 suspects, 19 were men and three were women; police classed seven as users, nine as dealers and six as intermediaries (perantara).[2]

Aceh Tengah police chief AKBP Teguh Siswoyo announced the results at a press conference at the regency police headquarters in Takengon on Saturday 31 October 2026.[1] He said most of the dealers came from outside the regency, naming Medan, Bireuen and Lhokseumawe.[2] The cases reached into Bener Meriah, North Aceh, Lhokseumawe and North Sumatra.[1]

Teguh said police were still investigating to trace the suppliers and the networks bringing narcotics into Aceh Tengah.[3] He asked residents to report suspected drug activity, saying police could not work alone.[3]
