The head of the Drug Enforcement Administration said the men were trying to smuggle the shipment and that the drugs would be destroyed.   The commander of Syria's western border region said his forces had found numerous hashish farms, warehouses and processing and packing workshops during a sweep of villages along the Lebanese border. He said the area had been the economic artery of armed smuggling gangs and that the former regime had turned the border into a drug corridor.
