Kalmar District Court sentenced a 40-year-old man from Torsås municipality to two years in prison for gross drug offences and drink-driving, SVT reported on 22 October 2026.[1][2]
Police found 53 cannabis plants, 38 of them in the garden, and equipment for growing and processing cannabis in his home.[1][2] The charges covered more than 10 kg of cannabis, including growing plants, harvested material and plant parts.[1][2]
The court rejected his claim that the crop was only for personal use, pointing to the size of the operation and sealed packages labelled with strain, weight and THC content.[1][2] The growing equipment, which the man said was worth about 250,000 kronor, was forfeited.[1][2]
