Indicted without detention
The Suwon District Public Prosecutors Office indicted a rapper in his forties, later named as Bill Stax, without detention on 16 October 2026 for violating the Narcotics Control Act.[1][2] Bill Stax is 46-year-old Shin Dong-yeol, formerly known as Vasco, who appeared on Mnet’s Show Me The Money.[2] He is accused of buying cannabis and cannabis jelly from a drug dealer, Mr. B, in November 2025 and smoking marijuana.[1][2] SBS added that prosecutors believe he bought from a second dealer and smoked again in August 2026.[1]
The case grew out of the investigation into Mr. B, a man in his thirties accused of growing cannabis at home and manufacturing cannabis jelly from August 2024 to June 2026.[1][2] Mr. B made about 8 million won selling some 105 grams of marijuana and 50 cannabis gummies, including sales to Bill Stax at a Hongdae club in November 2025.[1] Police searched Bill Stax’s home in August 2026, reported finding marijuana and suspected liquid marijuana, and said a preliminary drug test came back positive.[1] Mr. B was indicted under detention in July.[1]

StarNews noted this is not his first drug case: he was indicted without detention in 2018 over 2015 marijuana, ecstasy and cocaine use.[2] Bill Stax has long argued marijuana should not be treated as a drug and has called for legalization, including recreational use.[2]
