Authorities destroyed two plantations and uprooted PHP10.3 million worth of marijuana plants in an inter-agency operation in Sulu province on Tuesday 3 March 2026, officials said.[1]

According to the Philippine News Agency, the Army’s 1102nd Infantry Brigade commander reported that the two plantations in Barangay Masjid Punjungan of Kalingalan Caluang town were destroyed that day: the first site covered about 1,000 square meters with 5,500 fully grown plants, and the second covered 2,000 square meters with 6,000 plants β€” 11,500 plants across 3,000 square meters worth PHP10,350,000 in total.[1]

The plants were uprooted and burned on site by joint operatives of the 1102nd Brigade, PDEA-Sulu and police forces, and PDEA is investigating to identify the owners of the two plantations.[1] The operation was the second of its kind that year in Kalingalan Caluang, following the destruction of P18.2 million of marijuana at Masjid Punjungan and Pitogo on 13 February.[1]

The Inquirer headline for this operation gives the same P10.3M figure, though its article page could not be opened.[2]
