Santoña Local Police detained a minor who was carrying approximately 40 grams of a substance described as apparently hashish.[1] The substance was hidden inside a vaping device that was made to look like an ordinary vape.[2] Police said the minor was detained for an alleged offence against public health.[1]

Police announced the detention in a statement describing several actions carried out in recent days during surveillance, prevention and protection work.[2] The published accounts identify the detained person only as a minor and give no name, age or other personal details.[1] The case was reported in Santoña, in the autonomous community of Cantabria in northern Spain.[1]

In the same police roundup, officers recovered a vehicle that was listed as stolen and subject to a Schengen Information System alert, and returned it to its rightful owner.[1] Police also opened proceedings for two alleged road-safety offences, one involving driving after losing all licence points and another involving driving by a person who had never held a licence.[1]
