A man in his thirties was arrested in the marina sector of Saint-Ferdinand,
Quebec, early on the evening of Thursday 29 October 2026.[1]He was carrying
two compressed-air guns, the Sûreté du Québec said.[1]
Louis-Philippe Ruel, a spokesman for the media relations service of the Sûreté
du Québec (SQ), the provincial police force, said the man had taunted young
people without threatening them or brandishing a weapon.[1]The young people
reported the presence of a possibly armed man, Ruel said, and officers
intervened and arrested him at the marina.[1]
A search of the suspect’s vehicle then led to the seizure of several narcotics,
notably cannabis and methamphetamine.[1]Police gave no quantity for either
drug.[1]Ruel said the man could face charges related to the possession of
narcotics and weapons, and no charges had been announced.[1]The man was not
named, and police did not say whether he remained in custody.[1]
