Police burn 32,500 marijuana seedlings in a Chugay raid
Police eradicated and burned 32,500 marijuana seedlings and seized about 621.7 kg of the drug in Yacopampa, Chugay district, La Libertad. They also disabled two collection and drying centres; no arrests were reported.

The National Police eradicated and burned 32,500 marijuana seedlings in Yacopampa, Chugay district, Sánchez Carrión province, La Libertad, according to a police report cited by Macronorte on 23 September 2026.[1]
Officers seized 63 sacks holding about 621.7 kg of marijuana and disabled two centres used to collect and dry the drug.[1] The report did not say whether anyone was arrested.[1]
Police said they were still working to identify who was behind the cultivation and to establish responsibility for drug trafficking.[1]
