Police in Novocherkassk detained a 29-year-old resident of Oktyabrsky district
on suspicion of illegally selling and storing drugs, the Rostov region branch of
the Interior Ministry said.[1] Officers searching several locations in the
city found five walnuts, each containing a zip bag of plant matter.[1] An
examination identified the contents as marijuana, and the total weight was 4.7
grams.[1] Don 24 reported that the five stashes were found in different parts
of the city and that the drug had been hidden in walnut shells.[2]
According to the police, the detained man worked as a zakladchik, a courier who
leaves hidden drug parcels for buyers, for one of the online shops.[1] Don 24
quoted the police as saying he planned to sell the drugs to unidentified buyers
through stashes in the city.[2] He was under administrative arrest, a short
detention imposed for an administrative offence, and a measure of restraint was
to be chosen once it ended.[1] Don 24 reported that he would be remanded in
custody at that point.[2]
