On 30 and 31 October 2026, police in Skopje, Prilep, Demir Kapija, Bogovinje and
Štip detained 13 people aged between 18 and 46, the Ministry of Interior said.[1] Marijuana, white powdered and granular substances, and tablets were found
and seized from them.[1] In Skopje, police detained nine people — six from the
capital, a 19-year-old from the Ilinden neighbourhood, a 35-year-old from the
village of Novo Selo and a 46-year-old from Kočani — after marijuana, white
powder and white granular material were found on them.[1]
Prison police searching a 32-year-old convicted man at Prilep prison found
powdered substances, several tablets of different colours and items containing
powder.[1] In Štip, police detained a 26-year-old man from Skopje.[1]
Officers noticed he was using marijuana and seized the cigarette butt he
discarded.[1] In the village of Bogovinje, police detained a 44-year-old man
from Pirok after marijuana was found on him.[1] In Demir Kapija, a 29-year-old
man from the village of Korešnica was detained after a search found white powder
and a tablet.[1]
The authorities were informed in all the cases, and the ministry said
appropriate charges would be filed once the cases were fully documented.[2]

Open questions the AI reported
- No weight was published for the marijuana, the white powder or the tablets; the ministry gives only that they were found and seized.
- The ministry did not say which of the 13 detainees are suspected over cannabis and which over the white powder or tablets, so the arrest count covers the whole roundup.
- No charges had been filed and no court dates were reported; the ministry said only that appropriate charges would follow.
- The detections were made on 30 and 31 October 2026 and published together, with no single date given for the roundup.
- The only other account found, by 24chasa, repeats the ministry's statement.
- The ministry's page carries a close-up of cannabis, white powder and handcuffed wrists captioned with the headline, which does not establish it as a photograph of these arrests, so no media entry is given.
