Police arrested 23-year-old A.L. in Nikšić after finding a small package of cocaine on him during a check at a catering venue.[1][2][3][4] He was brought before a Misdemeanor Court with a misdemeanor charge for violating Montenegro’s law on the prevention of drug abuse.[5][2][3] Officers searched a residential and catering property used by members of organized-crime groups and people of operational interest.[5][2] Police seized several packages of marijuana and cocaine from A.L. there, along with a metal drug crusher, a metal box, a knife and a metal baton.[5][2][3][4]

The search was part of intensified police checks and raids carried out across Montenegro the previous night.[5][4] Officers from four regional security centers carried out an operation aimed at organized-crime group members, their associates and people of operational interest, as well as the venues where they gathered.[5] Police checked 59 premises, including 53 catering establishments and six betting shops and casinos, and raided 14 catering establishments.[5] Police said activity related to the Nikšić case was ongoing.[5]
