Police received information that ganja and intoxicating tablets were being stored and sold in Devanangurichi near Tiruchengode.[1] A police team led by Prohibition Enforcement Wing Inspector Selvalakshmi searched Kandasamy Nagar in Devanangurichi following that information.[1] During the search of 35-year-old Somasundaram’s house, officers found 2 kg of ganja concealed in a car parked at the house.[1] Police seized the car and arrested Somasundaram in connection with the stored ganja.[1]

In the same operation at Kandasamy Nagar, police separately seized 60 intoxicating tablets from Somasundaram’s 33-year-old brother Suresh and arrested him.[1] Ganja is the Tamil term used for cannabis in this case, while the 60 tablets were described only as intoxicating tablets and are not counted in the cannabis quantity.[1]

Police said the two arrested men are brothers and that both already face various cases in Salem, Namakkal and Erode districts.[1] The ganja seizure, the tablet seizure and the two arrests were reported together as one local enforcement operation in Devanangurichi.[1]
