Acting on intelligence linking people to drug trafficking in the area, DCI Anti-Narcotics Unit detectives stormed a house along Kitengela Road in Maasai Estate, Langata, on Friday 8 May 2026.[1][2]
Officers were met by a calm, cooperative man who claimed to be fetching keys and then slipped out through a back window, evading arrest; a woman then admitted the team.[1][2] The search recovered seven sacks of cannabis sativa hidden in the servant quarters, two weighing scales, a roll of yellow cellotape believed used for packaging, two cartons of Rizla rolling papers, a mobile phone and assorted documents pointing to an organised distribution operation.[1][2]
The exhibits went to the DCI headquarters store; a manhunt is on for the escapee, and the DCI appealed for tips through its Fichua Kwa DCI initiative.[1][2]
