The Nasarawa State Police Command arrested three suspects and recovered quantities of leaves believed to be cannabis, including freshly harvested leaves from a garden, per a statement by PPRO SP Ramhan Nansel.[1][2]
The men — Aondaver Dominic, Sylvanus Umoor and Peter Tar — were arrested at about 1 pm on 22 October 2026 by SCID Lafia operatives during an anti-crime patrol of Sabongida Bature and Gidan Kparev villages in Kadarko.[1][2] Led to a hideout where marijuana was allegedly sold and consumed, officers gave chase as the suspects tried to flee and recovered dry leaves suspected to be Indian hemp.[1]
Investigation then led operatives to a garden behind the suspects’ residence where marijuana was allegedly cultivated, with freshly harvested leaves recovered from it.[1] CP Shetima Jauro-Mohammed ordered a thorough investigation and the handover of suspects and exhibits to the NDLEA.[1]
