Police in Aktobe detained a 33-year-old man in a dacha settlement, an area of
summer-house and garden plots.[1] Officers stopped him for a check there and
found a bag of plant material on him.[1] A further search of his home turned
up another bag, holding 15 bundles, and a bag with similar contents in a barn on
the property.[1]
Experts identified the seized material as marijuana.[1] The Aktobe region
police department, cited by Diapazon, put the total weight at more than 1.7
kilograms.[1] A medical examination confirmed that the man was intoxicated
with drugs at the time he was detained.[1]
The police statement said officers recorded a case of illegal storage of
narcotic substances during “Safe Home” (Безопасный дом), an
operational-preventive operation.[2] It said the necessary measures were under
way to establish all the circumstances of the case.[2]
