Albanian gardener jailed 18 months over 400-plant Grimsby docks grow
Guxim Sheti, 35, was jailed for 18 months at Grimsby Crown Court on 7 October 2026 after admitting producing cannabis in three rooms of a Grimsby docks building, where Associated British Ports staff had flagged bypassed electrics; he said he was paid to water the crop.

Around 400 cannabis plants were found being looked after by a
“gardener”, Grimsby Crown Court heard.[1]
Associated British Ports managers grew concerned when electricity use
spiked at a building on Grimsby docks; Humberside Police raided the
Hutton Road property on 12 June and found plants in three downstairs
rooms with bypassed electrics and liquid fertiliser.[1] Guxim Sheti,
35, of no fixed address, was inside; he said he had entered the UK
illegally from Albania five months earlier, had stayed 20 days watering
the plants for a promised £10,000, and had no previous convictions.[1]
Recorder Caroline Sellars jailed him for 18 months, said he would
undoubtedly be deported, and ordered the cannabis and equipment
destroyed.[1]
