The prosecutor’s office of the Mouila court of first instance recently destroyed 750 kg of cannabis, packed in fifteen 50 kg sacks, on judicial orders.[1] The drug had been seized in various operations and kept under seal for several years, and was valued at about 10 million FCFA.[1]

The operation, run with the judicial police units, was ordered to free the court’s evidence stores, prosecutor King Simba explained.[1] The stock came from seizures accumulated over several years, not only the past judicial year.[1] The destruction was presented as part of the fight against cannabis trafficking in Ngounié province.[1]
