Hong Kong esports influencer Liu Weijian, known as Toyz, was released on parole
and deported from Taiwan on 3 November 2026 after serving part of a
cannabis-trafficking sentence.[1][2] Officers from the immigration agency’s
Changhua County task force picked him up from Changhua Prison and carried out
the forced expulsion, barring him from returning to Taiwan for a set period.[3][2] Prosecutors ordered deportation in place of protective supervision after
the Taichung branch of the Taiwan High Court granted parole with protective
supervision on 20 October.[4][2]
He had been in prison since May 2024 serving a final combined sentence of 4
years and 2 months for selling cannabis vape cartridges, prosecuted as
second-level narcotics offences in Taiwan.[1][2] Investigators traced him after
police seized up to 200 cannabis cartridges from dealers in 2021, then
prosecuted him for selling second-level drugs and the court imposed the combined
term.[1]
He completed exit procedures late that morning and boarded a 1:10 p.m. flight to
Hong Kong.[4][2] Immigration said any future application by Liu to reside in
Taiwan through a Taiwan-registered spouse would face strict review, and it said
visitors must obey Taiwan’s laws.[1]
