A joint team of Govindpura Police and the Narcotics Control Bureauarrested a
young man travelling on a passenger bus with around one kilogram of hashish.[1]On Wednesday evening the bus was stopped near Govindpura Police Station and
the passengers were checked.[1]The accused was identified as 25-year-old
Sheezan Khan, a resident of Kerala.[1]After the operation the accused was
handed over to the NCB for further investigation and questioning.[2]
Officers found around one kilogram of hashish in his bag.[1]Police estimated
the seized hashish was worth around Rs 30 lakh in the international market.[1]Preliminary investigation suggests he had hidden the hashish in his bag so that
no one would suspect him during the journey.[1]
Police said a checking campaign with the NCB was under way amid suspicions that
narcotics were being smuggled on passenger buses.[1]During that campaign
police received information that a young man was travelling by passenger bus
from Delhi to Hyderabad carrying hashish.[1]Interrogation revealed that the
accused had boarded a bus from Delhi and was travelling to Hyderabad carrying
the narcotics.[2]Govindpura TI Awadhesh Singh Tomar said the NCB team was
questioning the accused.[1]Investigators are trying to establish where he
obtained the hashish and to whom he was to deliver it in Hyderabad.[1]Investigators are also examining whether the accused was linked to a large
narcotics trafficking network or was supplying the hashish alone.[1]
The article gives Wednesday evening as the interception time without a separate calendar date; 4 November 2026 is the publication date and is used as the incident date.
