Balanagar Excise officials seized 1.1 kg of ganja from a man during special inspections in several areas aimed at curbing the sale and possession of narcotic substances.[1] A Balanagar Excise Station team conducting checks at various locations stopped S. Srikanth, a resident of Bollaram, after noticing him behaving suspiciously.[1] A search of Srikanth’s possession led to the recovery of 1.1 kg of ganja, which staff seized before taking him into custody for further action.[1]

A case was registered against him at the Balanagar Excise Police Station under the relevant provisions of the law.[1] Quthbullapur Excise Superintendent R. Praveen said the department was taking steps to prevent the circulation of ganja in the region, with excise teams conducting inspections in different localities to identify people involved in possession and sale.[1]

Officials said surveillance and checks would continue in areas under their jurisdiction to curb drug-related activities.[1] They also urged the public to share information about the illegal sale or transportation of ganja with the Excise Department to help prevent the drug menace.[1]
