Kiribati police find a two-metre cannabis plant at Abatao
Police found a cannabis plant almost two metres high at Abatao, Tarawa, arrested a suspect and asked the public for information. It was the first cannabis raid reported in 2025.
A Monaco court convicts a pensioner over 15 g of cannabis and CBD products
A Monegasque man born in 1956, with a clean record, was tried for possession and use of narcotics after a search of his home found 15.62 g of cannabis, a CBD spray and CBD chewing gum. The prosecutor cited a ministerial order banning cannabis and its derivatives, including CBD, even at low THC levels, and asked for three months suspended.
Tripoli court jails a man for life over imported cannabis seeds
The Tripoli Criminal Court sentenced a man to life imprisonment for importing cannabis seeds with customs documents that falsely described the goods. It fined him 40,000 dinars and permanently stripped him of his civil rights. The charge was importing the seeds, not growing plants.
Brunei records 777 drug arrests as meth seizures surge
Brunei recorded 777 drug arrests in 2024, up from 711 in 2023; 641 were men, 136 women, and 645 were locals. Methamphetamine seizures rose above 40 kg, while UNODC recorded 2.6 kg of herbal cannabis seized against 6.3 kg in 2023. No cannabis-specific arrest count was published.
Palestinian prosecutors handled 1,396 drug cases in 2024
The Palestinian Public Prosecution's 2024 annual report said it opened investigations into 1,396 drug cases and resolved 97% of them. The report covers the areas under PA jurisdiction; Gaza's courts were outside the PA system and largely closed by the war.
Gendarmes seize 350 kg at Ihosy after traffickers flee
Gendarmes and soldiers seized 350.06 kg of cannabis in 25 sacks at Sahambano forest, Ihosy, after traffickers opened fire and fled. Local police seized another 52 kg. No arrests were reported.
