Bosnia’s state police report cannabis seizures and drug-trafficking cases
SIPA reported 78.904 kg of marijuana/skank and 126 cannabis plants seized during 2023. Its all-drug trafficking work covered 68 cases and sixteen reports to prosecutors concerning 32 people, plus a supplementary report concerning three people.
Serbia’s top court keeps three years for 372 grams of personal cannabis
The Supreme Court upheld Senad Makaji’s three-year prison sentence for holding about 372 grams of cannabis, even though it was for his own use. An appeal had increased his original thirteen-month sentence by applying the large-quantity offence introduced in 2019.
Faroese customs find 24 kg of hashish in a ferry passenger’s car
Customs found 24 kg of hashish in a car arriving on Norrøna. Police arrested two people and charged them under Penal Code § 191; the following day a court remanded them for four weeks.
Thai cannabis drinks slip into Vientiane shops
Radio Free Asia reported in January 2024 that Thai drinks containing up to 0.2% THC were on sale in Vientiane markets, despite Laos's ban. A Vientiane police officer said only cannabis products authorised by the Ministry of Health for medical use were allowed and that police confiscated illegal products.
