Gaza court sentences a hashish dealer to death
Gaza's Grand Criminal Court sentenced a man to death by hanging for possessing hashish and 'happy pills' with intent to traffic, a repeat offence. SHAMS said the PA's 2018 drug law did not provide death; PCHR later said Gaza's 2013 law did. It was the first death sentence by that court in a drug case.
Cabo Verde seizes 717 kg of cannabis in Ribeira Grande
The Judicial Police seized about 717 kg of cannabis in Tronco, Ribeira Grande de Santiago, during field checks of cannabis-growing areas; 17 kg was ready to enter the market.[@1] A 38-year-old local man was detained outside flagrante delicto, and a court imposed preventive detention, the harshest pre-trial measure.[@1] All seized drugs were incinerated on site after weighing.[@1]
