A Welshman gets eleven years in Malta for growing cannabis
Daniel Holmes, a 35-year-old Briton arrested in 2006 in Gozo, was convicted of importing seeds, cultivating cannabis in circumstances suggesting it was not for personal use and trafficking over 1 kg, a weight his defence said counted the whole dry plant. He was sentenced to eleven years and a fine of over €23,000. He said he grew it for himself.
